These wings can come in different colors, from brown to red to black. These wings allow the aegyl to fly with no problems. However, the strain they put on their body means they have the shortest life span of any race in Ivalice, only living for forty years. DemeanorEdit All aegyl, including Llyud, are cold and aloof. They are either incapable at showing emotions, or do not feel them at all. This is due to their use of auracite to summon the Yarhi and the repeating circle mentioned earlier that saps them of all of their anima. The aegyl are not too keen on other races, since most of the Sky Pirates who arrived either attacked or enslaved them. This was also in part due to their leader Feolthanos and his dislike of all the other races. ArchitectureEdit "Though the aegyl are a social people, they cluster among the ruins of their ancestors rather than build structures anew, their humility evident even in this." —Royal Society of Antropology Aegyl make their home in many stone edifices erected over several of Lemurés's continents. These homes were build by the first generation of aegyl to reach Lemurés following their banishment by the Occuria. Successive generations have elected to inhabit these century-old dwellings rather than construct new ones, an effort made easier by the small aegyl population. From what the player can determine from the World Map, there are several clusters of stone buildings on every island of Lemurés barring Tswarra, Isle of the Lost. This is because the aegyl only inhabit places deemed "right and proper" in the Canon. One of these major aegyl gatherings is Heaven's Vigil, a city of stone resplendent with windmills and a breathtaking view over the endless skies surrounding the isle of Arda. The aegyl have also built temples to enshrine geological formations that are sacred to them. These buildings are called "Fanes", and four exist in Lemurés. Fane of Gucuma Qul: This shrine rises high above the ground, so much so that the party requires a long ropeladder to reach its first level. The Fane of Gucuma Qul's interior decorations are dominated by the image of a mythological bird, who resembles Quezacotl from Final Fantasy VIII. A coffin that bears the bird's likeness is built into the ground in the first room of the Fane. At the Dais of the Auracite in the back of the Fane, a large chunk of auracite is embedded into a huge stone likeness of the winged creature, resplendent with four magnificent wings and coated with other precious jewels and rare metals. Fane of Tehp Qul: Protects the first auralith on Tormelados, Isle of the Megalith. The outdoor entrance features a long stone walkway flanked by many pillars. This temple has a secret entrance that Vaan must reach in order to allow his whole team to infiltrate the Fane. Underfane of Yaxin Qul: Deep within the lava-filled chambers of the Yapih Caverns, this Underfane houses the Skystone of Fire, which, along with its twin, keeps the skysea intact. The ramp to the glowing gem consists of a large stone bridge with narrow crossings, all over a sea of fire. The skystone is destroyed along with the entire Underfane after Bahamut is summoned by the Judge of Wings. Underfane of Huin Qul: This shrine surfaces only after the destruction of its sister Fane, Yaxin. Aligned with the element of water, the Underfane of Huin Qul's layout is an exact replica of Yaxin's. The only difference is the notable change in temperature and replacement of lava with sea and fog. Huin contains the Skystone of Water. Diet and DressAccording to the Folio, aegyl are mostly vegetarians, the majority of their diet being wild fruits and vegetables. The Damson, a plump red fruit that grows in the Bosco Pampa, appears to be their favorite. Aegyl harvest the waters of Lemurés for native fish, and eggs are also a part of their cuisine. However, other hunting sources are nonexistent, as the Yarhi beasts that would normally yield meat are but illusions, and fade to nothing when killed. Since the climate of Lemurés is mostly tropical, aegyl garb is light and geared for flight. Indeed, most aegyl males do not wear an upper garment, and aegyl armor is likewise sparsely distributed over the aegyl form. As Llyud exemplifies, aegyl jewelry is simplistic, being of lightweight gold and lacking in inlaid jewels. This absence of exquisite garments is yet another indication of aegyl humility. WarfareEdit Aegyl have been geared for war against the native Yarhi of Lemurés, all thanks to their god Feolthanos. All aegyl are Flying units, and they wield various metallic weapons geared for close-range combat. It is interesting to note that aegyl abilities seem to exclude Magicks common in Ivalice, such as Firaga or Cure. Instead, aegyl use their own unique powers to substitute for these effects, such as the Dragon Knight's Fire Breath and Dragonmend.

DemeanorOut of all the humanoid races in Spira, the Al Bhed seem to be the most expressive in their emotions and body language; many of their more notable members also exhibit personalities that may classify as eccentric or child-like. Al Bhed take a keen interest in Spira's technological past organizing salvage operations and excavations of and for ancient technology. The Al Bhed are the only Spiran race to openly reject the teachings of Yevon in Final Fantasy X, especially in regard to the ban on Machina. In the Japanese version it follows much the same pattern except in using the Japanese Romaji alphabet instead to speak and translate the language. Converting Al Bhed to English/Japanese is relatively simple once a person knows which letter/sound stands for what. BakamyThe Baknamy (バクナムス, Bakunamusu) are a humanoid race in Final Fantasy XII and Final Fantasy Tactics A2: Grimoire of the Rift, closely resembling humes save for the small horns atop their heads and their green skin. Oxygen to them is poisonous, so they must wear filtering masks to survive. The Baknamy act in part as the early era Ivalice's Goblins, though Goblins also exist within the setting. While the Baknamy don't much resemble the traditional goblin, they are short and squat as goblins usually are, and use a variant of the Goblin Punch. They are also surprisingly powerful for their size, and capable of using magic quite proficiently considering their low intelligence. Most of the Baknamy live in the Necrohol of Nabudis and Nabreus Deadlands as thieves and usually attack people on sight, with only a handful living an honest life, like the hidden merchant. If a traveler sees a Baknamy, that one is usually a decoy, while the others hide, waiting to ambush the traveler and steal whatever loot they could carry. If the player does not collect a Loot dropped by an enemy, a Baknamy will come and pick it up. All Baknamy are weak to Ice. [this is all the info i could find on them]

Bangaa "It takes a lot of nerve to call a Bangaa a lizard!" —Bangaa The Bangaa (バンガ, Banga) are a race in the Final Fantasy series, exclusive to Ivalice. Physiology The bangaa are a lizard-like race, populating all of Ivalice. They have long faces, scaly skin, and tough limbs. Due to their brute force, the bangaa are generally considered to be the most physically prominent of all the Ivalice races. Voices aside, their reptilian appearance make it difficult to distinguish the sexes from each other. However, it is considered a racial slur, and the worst insult, to call a bangaa a lizard. Another lizard-like race exists in Ivalice, generally referred to as the Lizardmen; these creatures are more primitive and violent than the bangaa, who resent the comparison. However, some people will still refer to bangaas as lizards when outside of their company. Unlike true reptiles, bangaa are capable of growing facial hair. Main article: Bangaa (Final Fantasy XII) The bangaa are covered with scales, and their ears fall below their lengthened muzzles. Apart from their physical differences, their intelligence and their manners are not very different from those of the humes. It is often said that they are the race best integrated within the humes. Even so, some humes are ill-disposed to the bangaa and speak about them using the racist insult "lizard", when they are safely far from their sensitive ears. Some hume-distinct nations, Archadia for example, prefer that bangaas not enter their ranks. Bangaas can live up to twice as long as the average hume, but seldom procreate. The bangaa vocal cords are not as clear and refined as those of the other races, and therefore cannot speak quite as well. This makes it difficult for them to use even the most basic magic. However, some bangaas succeed in becoming expert magicians, using magical formulas specific to their reptilian language. Bangaas are separated into four sub-branches: the Bangaa Ruga with yellow-brown skin and shorter ears, the athletic Bangaa Faas with bronze skin, the Bangaa Bista with copper-colored skin, and the Bangaa Sanga with ash-colored skin. There are also additional breed mixes. In the bangaa language it is said that "Faas" may mean soldier or "a strong sense of justice". Bangaa Ruga are more gentle than most and are more likely to be instructors or monks. The Bangaa Ruga and Faas generally make the laws and keep order among the bangaa. Cetra (no picture because I'm pretty sure you know what humans look like) The Cetra (セトラ Setora), also known as the Ancients (古代種 Kodai-shu), are mentioned frequently in Final Fantasy VII, although few Ancients are actually depicted in the game. Those depicted are Ifalna, her daughter, Aerith Gainsborough, and the spiritual manifestation of another within the Temple of the Ancients. The Cetra look identical to regular humans, but are deeply spiritual in nature. According to Sephiroth, regular humans were Cetra who forsook their migratory nature to form permanent settlements millennia ago.

ElezenThe Elezen are a race from Eorzea in Final Fantasy XIV. They are the race that has lived in Eorzea the longest and co-exist peacefully with the other races. They are similar to the Elvaan of Final Fantasy XI. Among the Elezen, the Forester tribe live in the forest but also adapt to urban life, and are excellent archers due to their keen eyesight. The Shader Elezen, also known as the Duskwights, live in caves and see the Foresters as traitors. Shaders have excellent hearing and are skilled in hand-to-hand combat, and many act as thieves. ElvaanElvaan is a race available for play in Final Fantasy XI. They inhabit the Kingdom of San d'Oria, and Elvaan players starting their game there are rewarded with a San d'Orian Ring. They are strong and have a high Strength stat, making them effective for physical classes (such as Monk) and high Mind, making them successful healers. such as White Mages. They are the most religious of the enlightened races, and also the most imperialistic. History "In the creation myth of Vana'diel the children of the gods, the Ancients, attempted to gain entry to Paradise, however the Gate Keeper of Paradise rejected them and destroyed their entire civilization. The goddess, Altana, having awoken from her slumber, wept over the destruction of the ancient race. Her tears cleaned away the wreckage and five divine tears gave rise to the five enlightened races (Elvaan, Galka, Hume, Mithra, Tarutaru). The God of Twilight, Promathia, however, was disgusted by Altana's weakness and so cursed the five races by bringing out their darkest emotions - the Elvaan's arrogance, the Hume's apathy, the envy of the Mithra, the cowardice of the Tarutaru, and the Galka's rage and curse them to constant internal conflict." —Creation Myth of Vana'diel In the game's creation myth, the goddess Altana weeps over the destruction of the ancient Zilart race. Her tears clean away the wreckage and give rise to the five enlightened races. The god Promathia, disliking the existence of the new races, brings out their worst emotions. The Elvaan were cursed with arrogance. The Elvaan reached the height of their influence after the Age of Magic, wherein the Tarutaru monopolized the practice of magic. After the secrets of magic usage available to the other races, even the beastmen, the Elvaan developed powerful orders of knights. Elvaan influence expanded, until they went at war with Bastok and Windurst. Windurst allied with their enemies, the Yagudo, who were displaced by Elvaan imperialism. Bastok, with Hume ingenuity, invented firearms that gave them an advantage. The Elvaan's defeat at the Battle of the Second Konschtat marked the end of this era, called the Age of Power. Physiology Elvaan have lanky features, including long necks, long limbs, and long, pointed ears. They have tanned skin and fair facial structures.

GalkaGalka is a race available for play in Final Fantasy XI. They are large humanoids with a vaguely ursine appearance. They appear most commonly in Bastok, They are strong and have high Health, making them best suited for melee classes, such as monk or warrior. Despite their average magic attack ratings, Galkas have low Magic power and may struggle at magic when compared to other races. There are, however, various types of armor to compensate for this. They reproduce through a form of reincarnation, but usually have no recollection of their past life. Many English speaking fans believe they are Asexual due to a mistranslation in the manual. Interviews with the game's creator have confirmed they are male. Geriatric Galkas will go into seclusion, and upon their death they are enveloped by a bright light. Some time later, a child Galka will be found wandering into a town or village. Only the talekeeper, who serves as the leader of Galkas, has recollection of his past life. He not only remembers his past life, but the life of all Galkas in the past 200 years. Galkas were the first among the enlightened races to exist and create a civilization (on Zepwell Island). 600 years before the game, the Antican army destroyed Galkan society and forced them to flee to what is now Bastok through Korroloka Tunnel. The Galkas feel they are exploited by the Humes of Bastok since they are primarily used for labor. Some Galka are resentful of their "given name," generally a descriptor not unlike the names of Native Americans, such as Invincible Shield, though such names are just as likely to be honorific as derogatory. There is growing discontent among the Galkas toward the Humes

Garif "The garif people live by the old ways. Magicite Lore is a part of their culture. They may hear it. They cry of the nethicite’s power. Whispers of the Stone’s menace." —Fran The Garif (ガリフ, Garifu) are a humanoid race from Final Fantasy XII, who live in tribes scattered all over the Bancour Region of Ivalice. However, the only tribe encountered by the player is located in the village of Jahara. Profile Despite their intimidating appearance, the garif are generally a peace-loving people, albeit physically capable of fighting and hunting thanks to their muscular bodies, thick fur and incredible hearing and sense of smell. Instead, many Garif become herders, overlooking their livestock of creatures known as "Nanna" in the garif tongue. The garif milk these creatures in order to make the Nanna-cheese, which is famous throughout Ivalice. Some garif even become Geomancers and trading-merchants. They do still have warriors and even a War-chief in order to defend themselves should there ever be a need to do so. The current War-chief of the Jahara-tribe is called Supinelu, who succeeded his brother, Kadalu, as War-chief. In the game, Geomancer Yugelu also plays a key role in unlocking the area at Henne Mines where Zodiark is hidden. The garif have no interest in material goods or money, but choose to live in harmony with nature instead. Unlike the humes to the north, the garif see no use in machinery, and, as such, choose not to utilize them. In fact, they abhor all manufactured things with the exception of their masks. Instead, their material culture is based on the usage of wood and stone. Their houses are made of grass and strips of leather and they adorn themselves with animal bones and stones. The masks worn by the garif are a large part of their customs. All garif receive a mask on the day they are born, which they wear until the day they die. It should be noted that the Great-chiefs of the garif tribes wear masks that look rather different. However, it may simply be a standard mask of the Garif, who is to become Great-chief, that has been decorated to signify the importance of the Great-chief. The player can fight a Garif Adventurer at the Greensnake and Haulo Green area of the Ozmone Plain, however the garif warrior appears only rarely. If the player wants to reveal the entire bestiary entry they will need to kill this garif multiple times. Garif and the OccuriaEdit A long time ago the Occuria tried to influence the garif and granted them deifacted nethicite. However, the garif could not wield or control the magickal stones and would only worship the Occuria. Disappointed, the Occuria took the stones back, and gave them to the Hume race instead.

GoblinsGoblins, colloquially referred to as Gobs or Gobbies, are a race of Beastmen found in most regions of Vana'diel in Final Fantasy XI. Their flexible lifestyle and adaptability to the surrounding environment have given them the ability to coexist with other beastmen as well as the Enlightened Races. Compared to other beastmen, Goblins have developed superior techniques in trades such as smithing and healing. Because of their prevalence and semi-integration into the nations of Vana'diel, studies of Goblins have been undertaken to better understand their lifestyle. Of some interest is Goblin naming conventions—which appear to be rather strict. An "-ix" ending on a goblin's name designates it as a male goblin while "-ox" is for female goblin names.

Gria "Dragonic wings and tail adorn this peculiar female race. Able to fly for short distances, they move without hindrance across the battlefield. Gria prefer a weapon's cold steel to the subtle arts of magick, eagerly taking to the front lines." —Online Description The Gria (グリア, Guria) are a dragon-like race from Ivalice, first introduced in Final Fantasy Tactics A2: Grimoire of the Rift. Since they are only seen in Jylland, it can be assumed they are native to this region. All Gria depicted are female. Physiology The Gria are a small-bodied draconian race, complete with dragon wings, tail, and horns. The Gria are more proficient in physical attacks rather than magick in combat. Their ability to fly seems to allow them to ignore the Jump stat, giving them an advantage in areas with high terrain, and allowing them to easily get behind units, as they can simply fly over them rather than try to walk around them. And unlike units equipped with Faerie Shoes, which use teleportation to ignore the Jump stat in a similar fashion, Gria are immune to falling damage; If they are knocked off a high cliff, the Gria will use their wings to slow the descent. Note that the Gria are not to be mistaken with the Aegyl. Appearances Final Fantasy Tactics A2: Grimoire of the RiftEdit "Wings of a dragon and a powerful tail distinguish this unique race. Outwardly small, some might even say cute, Grias make vicious foes in battle. They have a fierce, competitive spirit." —In-Game Description They have four known Jobs, the Ravager, Hunter, Geomancer, and Raptor. Also, due to their wings, they can fly at will, ignoring terrain, so equipping a Gria with Faerie Boots or Galmia Shoes is useless. Equipped with Ninja Tabi, they can become a very mobile force on the battlefield. This race's class range is fairly well rounded, being comprised of two Warrior-like Jobs, one long range Job, and one magic Job. However, their effectiveness is reduced by the fact that the player usually finds them last and before Seeq units.

GuadoThe Guado are a humanoid race in Final Fantasy X and Final Fantasy X-2. A race that lives amongst trees, they are the protectors of Spira's afterlife, the Farplane, and the Macalania Woods. The Guado's capital city is Guadosalam, from within which they guard the entrance to the Farplane. History In Final Fantasy X, the leader of the Guado, Jyscal Guado, had a child with a human woman in an attempt to foster friendship between the Guado and human races. Their child, Seymour, was viewed as an abomination by the humans, and Jyscal's decision to wed a human led to disunity in the Guado tribe. In order to avoid further strife amongst the Guado nation, Jyscal had his wife and son exiled to the island of Baaj. Allowed to return to society years later, Seymour developed a plan to become Sin and destroy Spira, killing all its inhabitants and "releasing" them from the suffering of existence. As the first stage of his plan, Seymour secretly murdered his father and took his place as leader of the Guado and a Maester of Yevon. Using his status as their leader, Seymour uses the Guado and has them attack and destroy the capital of the Al Bhed in Bikanel in an attempt to capture Yuna. In Final Fantasy X-2, the remaining Ronso seek vengeance for the crimes committed by Seymour on their race. Fearing their retribution by association, the Guado flee their home and take refuge in the Macalania Woods. The Guado take responsibility for their role in Seymour's crimes, and become content to die with the forest for their sins. If the player makes the right choices during interactions with the Guado, Tromell becomes the official leader of the Guado and succeeds in restoring friendly relations with the rest of Spira. If Yuna's party does not make the right choices, Yuna will be told the Guado had been killed by the Ronso, having not done anything to save themselves. Physiology The Guado are wooden and elvish in appearance with long limbs, over-sized hands, prominent veins on their faces, and hair resembling flora. They are keen to the scent of the Farplane, and as such can tell unsent from regular people by their scent. Of all the races in Spira, the Guado are physically the fastest, able to run twice as fast as humans. Their high speed makes the Guado Glories an effective blitzball team. Demeanor Guado have a strict religious culture, which causes them to come across as arrogant to some. Their role as guardians of the Farplane have led to them looking down upon other races. The Guado were converted to the Yevon religion under their leader, Jyscal Guado, who was later appointed a Maester of Yevon.
